First Medal Distributing Event in Japan!

Hello, everyone! Thanks for donating your medals or checking the blog.  I am always in a position to donate medals to hospitals but I had a chance to deliver medals directly this time. The organization we visited is named "Network to support of children with incurable diseases ".

Seas and beaches in Awaji Island was so beautiful!

There were about 12 kids at the camp.  I don't know what are their physical conditions, but they are having a good time to make some "bugs" by woods.  Family and friends were there too.  First they did not understand who we are and why we wanted to deliver medals to them, but they seemed to be happy when I explained how Dr. Steve started M4M: he gave his own medals to his own patients and we are sharing his spirits.

I was happy my small speech about M4M seemed to be well received ... they seemed to share our mission.  First, kids were a little shy but once first kid chose the medal... it was easy what happened next, right?  Kids were excited to pick up their medals! Mom and dad seemed to be happy too! Some mom and dad even wore their kid's medals : )

Some kids could not come to the event floor because they were too tired from other events. So, we left a couple of medals to them.  Hope they liked it!

I hope we can come back to their camp next year again!
It it happens or not, it was a great day to have our first ever medal giving event in Japan!

I appreciate your constant support to M4M! Most of medals we have collected this year will be sending to children's hospitals in US.  Please let me report to you updates when time comes!

Osaka Ultra 100km Medal Drive

Sorry that it took too long since the last posting.  I hope keep posting new stories more often!

Yesterday, I just got back to Kansai, where we collected medals at Osaka Ultra 100km event in April.  Thank you so much for the donors as well as staff at Osaka Ultra 100km, who helped tremendously for the medal drive.  We will send out those medals by seamail to the US.  Main recipient for these Japanese medals should be bone marrow implant patients at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia.  I hope to share the updates when time comes.

Yesterday's work was to take off original ribbons and then tie 10 medals together.

We selected 20 medals out of 200+, which we collected, and put M4M ribbons.  What will happen next?  I will tell you what in my next posting!
